Grantham Journal letter: Thanks to all who helped with Great Gonerby bonfire

Bonfire and fireworks in Grantham.
Bonfire and fireworks in Grantham.

We would like to thank all those who helped with the annual bonfire and firework display at Great Gonerby.

Without the help of all the volunteers, traffic controllers, money collectors and all those that helped with setting up the event, it could not take place.

Thank you to farmer Tony Critchley for the loan of his field and for building the bonfire.

We also thank SKDC for the loan of the safety barriers, Speedy Hire for the lighting sets, Colas Ltd for providing labour and vehicles, Richard Setchfield for the loan of his teleporter and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue for attending and supporting the event.

We mustn’t forget all those members of the public who paid to come in and made the whole event worthwhile and the success that it was.

Mick Eldred and Steve Meadows
