Grantham Journal letter: We mustn’t lost Grantham Hospital

Recently, my wife fell at home and broke her hip. I rang 999 and an ambulance promptly arrived.

The ambulance men were very helpful and when we arrived at AandE we were seen very quickly, even though the department was very busy that Monday - I was told nearly 400 people were attended to that day.

This is a service we cannot do without, so my message to the people who run the hospital is: Do not close this vital facility. My wife was on Ward Five and left a fortnight later. We could not fault the way staff worked - they were all very professional although over-worked. Even the meals were very good. Critics who pull the hospital and staff down should think before they speak. You want to experience it yourself.
