Grantham Journal letter: Wow, what a night! Thank you
May I thank everyone concerned with the Mayor’s Charity Show which took place in the Guildhall theatre on March 10.
The show was produced by Simon Hollingworth and he also performed in the multi talented Boxenburgs. The GRAB band opened up the first half of the show accompanied by the excellent vocalists Craig Martini and Helen Spede. The talented band were directed by the effervescent musical director Peter Storey and went down a storm.
The D2E gave two extracts from Seussical the musical and Sweeney Todd, two future shows to look out for! They were good, very good.
Joe Hoten, from Lincolnshire One Venues, calmed things down with his cool singing and guitar playing, to be followed by an explosion of high energy from the excellent Priory Ruskin Academy Dance Team, who flew through the air full of high jinks.
The evening was rounded off with a super duo, Heather and Crauford, from 54 North who sang traditional folk songs and played lively music. Wow what a night, superbly compered by the delightful Kevin Lawry .
I would also like to thank the Grantham Journal, Paul Stokes and all the staff and volunteers at the Guildhall Arts Centre. including David Pike, Laura Short and Jade Goswell, not forgetting the councillors who gave donations and raffle prizes and friends and the public for attending the show.
The show was a great success. The proceeds of the evening are going to the Grantham Carnival and Events Group for entertainment in the community.
