Grantham Journal Memory Lane: Dad and uncle both in winning football photo

This newspaper clipping was kindly brought into the Journal offices by Janis Coyne.

She is the daughter of Frank Cook, seen sitting at the front on the left, and niece of Albert Cook, who is seated proudly in the centre with the Billingborough Junior Cup for the season in 1929-1930.

They were part of the triumphant Osbournby School team. Also seen in the photograph, from left, standing on the back row, are – headteacher Mr Frank Robson, William Waldron, Ernest Cooling, Edward Greetham, Leslie Wilcox and Frederick Borrill. Seated on the next row, from left, are – Nicholas Johnson, Jack Harvey, Albert Cook (captain), Herbert Bembridge and Sidney Wilcox. On the front, Frank Cook is joined by Charles Cox.
