This lovely group photo was sent in by Sally Weston of Hungerton.

It shows the staff of T.W. Kemptons, the knitwear factory that was situated on Dysart Road, as they gathered to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee back in 1977.

Miss Weston remembers that they enjoyed a lunch to mark the occasion, before having their photo taken. She is on the third row in a blue hat.

Miss Weston adds that Kemptons lasted until February 1990, and was one of several clothes manufacturers in Grantham at the time, which have now all gone. The site of this former factory is now the bowling alley.
