Grantham Lions Club raised £3,513.19 when it took Santa’s sleigh around the town on its annual Christmas fund-raiser.

Santa toured Grantham on 11 nights, the last night being on December 23.

Godfrey MacKinder, of the Lions club, said they were very pleased with the amount raised and grateful to the people of Grantham for their support. Mr Mackinder added: “The children loved the sleigh. Some follow it down the street and some parents bring their children in cars to see it. The money raised is put back into the local community, helping those less fortunate than ourselves. We would like to wish all the people of Grantham a happy and healthy New Year.”

The Lions thanked Chandlers of Belton, the police and army cadets, Lions Ladies and friends, and Jean, Dave and Martin Robinson for their help with the fund-raising.
