Grantham mum cooks up new baking business
A public relations professional has cooked up a business in the baking world.
Laura Taylor has launched Laura Taylor Bakes to fulfil a passion for baking that she has had since a child when making apple crumble.
Newark-born Laura was educated at KGGS and has lived in Grantham for seven years.
The mum-of-two has worked in marketing and PR, with previous roles at Grantham College and the David Ross Education Trust.
On taking maternity leave and the trust moving to Loughborough, Laura took redundancy and last month became a director of Diddu Communications, working for Ben Peck, who recruited Laura at the trust.
Laura, who trained to teach cookery, launched her own business last month, naming it after herself for better brand recognition.
Grantham has many cake businesses but Laura claims a wider range including toffee, fudge, biscuits, truffles, chocolates and hampers. www.laurataylorbakes.co.uk
