Grantham pupils delighted as chicks hatch

Pupils at an additional needs school have been learning about the life cycle of hens with the arrival of six new chicks.

Staff and Sandon School, Sandon Close, took delivery of a batch of eggs from Rand Farm in Market Rasen, last month, in the hope that pupils would see chicks emerging from their shells first-hand.

The egg-citement grew and by last Tuesday, two feathered friends had made an appearance, followed soon after by another four.
