The team at Grantham Railway Station have raised a fantastic £1,204.28 for this year’s Text Santa Appeal, following a day full of fabulous fund-raising.
Staff members at the station helped raise funds on December 18 by donating raffle prizes, baking treats for passengers and giving up their free time to come in and sell raffle tickets.
Virgin Trains community ambassador David Winfield said: “I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has made Grantham Station’s Text Santa Appeal so amazing.
“I’m overwhelmed by the support – the spirit within the community rocks!”
Many local businesses also donated some top prizes for the raffle, including Costa which donated a hamper full of goodies, Starbucks which donated a £20 voucher and Grantham Station Taxis which donated four free tickets to attend any of next year’s Grantham Classic Soul and Motown shows.
All of the money raised by the station will be donated to the Text Santa Appeal which will be shared equally amongst Macmillan Cancer Support, Make-A-Wish UK and Save the Children, going directly to support vital work both in the UK and abroad.
