Grantham 'remainers' join national demonstration in London

Nearly thirty anti-Brexit campaigners from Grantham travelled to London on Saturday to take part in the People’s Vote march.

The party left Grantham early by coach to be on time for the start of the march at noon. They were accompanied by flags, banners and EU berets.

Organisers claimed over a million people had joined the protest, bringing large parts of central London to a standstill.

Ruth Davidson, who helped organise the trip said: “We understand that many of our fellow townsfolk are yet to be convinced that a second vote on Brexit is needed, and we are always open to constructive discussion but we felt that it important to show that pro-Europeans do still have a voice in Lincolnshire.

"We are particularly concerned about the prospects for young people if Brexit goes ahead. All we ask is that, now we all know more about what Brexit means, the people should have a final say on the deal through a referendum.”
