Work which was due to take place last week to resurface part of a Grantham road has now been postponed until July.

Resurfacing was due to take place on Swinegate on Wednesday but contractors were unable to do the work because cars had been left on the street.

As the Journal reported last week, residents said that they had received letters from the county highways department, but the letter did not state they had to move their cars. They also said that people who do not live in the street park their cars there to go into town and would not have received a letter anyway.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire County Council told the Journal: “The contractors are due to return to Swinegate on Thursday, July 16, to complete the works. It’s during school holidays, so will reduce disruption to residents.”
