Grantham rotarians restore village forest school
Rotarians turned out in force to restore a Village Hall in need of repair.
Members from Grantham Sunrise Rotary Club were responding to a plea for help from Grantham Additional Needs Fellowship (GANF), who use Wyville Village Hall throughout the year when pupils are visitng their Forest School, also based in the village.
The wooden exterior of Wyville Village Hall, was badly in need of repair and restoration.
The Sunrisers spent a week cleaning the entire building. They sprayed it with creosote and finished with another overall clean, ensuring that the building will be fit for use for a good few years to come.
It was the first working project under the new President - Maggie Welton, and nearly the entire club turned out.
Maggie said: “I am extremely pleased that our club has been able to assist in such a worthwhile project.
“It’s been a wonderful team effort.”
Anita Asken, a teaching assistant at GANF schools said: “The young people will be able to continue to use these premises, they love this facility.
“We are very grateful to the Sunrisers."
The premises at Wyville are also used by GANF schools, villagers, clubs and other organisations, all of whom will now benefit from the restoration of the building.
