Grantham Rotary club celebrates birthday

Grantham Kesteven Rotary Club has held its 34th birthday celebration in the same week that Rotary International marked its 110th anniversary.

The Charter Night, held at the Urban Hotel, saw Rotarians and friends from all over the district gather with the club’s members and their partners to enjoy the celebrations.

Rotary 1070 District Governor Ken Billington praised the club’s achievements, especially the work of their international box charity, Trade-Aid.

The Rotarian of the Year award, presented annually, was given to Mike Charity. Club member Carol Breeze provided cabaret-style entertainment on the saxophone.

President Bob McKinlay said: “It was a wonderful evening, enjoyed by everyone.”
