Grantham school get up close to nature at forest school

Pupils in Year 1 at Little Gonerby Infant School visited Great Wood Farm Early Years Centre in Boothby Pagnell last week.

As part of their project about how food travels from farm to fork, the pupils got to take part in den building, bread making, cooking over the fire and explored the forest.

They also got to take a special trailer ride to see what was happening in each field with Farmer Brian explaining what he has been doing.

Since returning to school the children have continued to look at the journey our food takes after leaving the farm and over the next few months they will visit markets to see how food is made and sold before holding their own market stalls at school.
