Harrowby Infant School in Grantham recently presented an end of term award to its lollipop lady, Donna Tilley, for her 10 years of service.

Donna, who works for the school crossing patrol outside the school, was presented with her award during a school assembly attended by all of the pupils and teachers.

Mrs Leeson, deputy headteacher said: “All of the pupils joyfully clapped and smiled when Donna received her award. This was followed by singing a joyful Christmas carol at this celebratory event.”

Donna gave a talk to the children about her desire to keep them safe on their journey to school.

Sara Bartlett, road safety advisor for Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership was also at the assembly and presented Donna with her award.

Sara gave a talk to the children about the need to wear highly visibility clothing when near the road and how important it is to have reflectors on their bikes.
