Grantham school pupils pledge £1,500 in 'Togher Trials.'

Energetic pupils at Belmont Primary School raised over £1,500 during a week of fund-raising activities dubbed’ The Togher Trials.’

Youngsters took part in skipping, hoola-hooping, dancing, a water challenge and a football tournament, representing countries from around the world.

Children in EYFS and Year 1 were given the challenge to score as many goals as they could while pupils in Years 2 to 6 took part in competitive matches, some playing football for the first time.

The winning team in each year group had the opportunity to lift aloft the school’s very own World Cup.

The week, which was organised by the school council and class teacher Mr Togher, helped boost funds for the development of the school grounds.

A spokesman at the school said: “The enthusiasm and commitment of the children taking part in all activities was wonderful.”
