Grantham signage firm donates to Matt Hampson’s £1m rehabilitation centre
Grantham business Signs Express has donated signage to a £1 million rehabilitation centre for people who have suffered severe injury through sport.
The Get Busy Living Centre, near Melton, will help young people who are seriously injured through participation in sport and physical recreation.
It is being set up by Matt Hampson, who suffered serious injury while training with England u21’s in 2005 and went on to set up the Matt Hampson Foundation.
Signs Express said it has been aware of the foundation’s work and Matt’s dream of setting up a rehabilitation centre as a sponsor of his club pre- injury, the Leicester Tigers. They were keen to be part of the project, which has seen a number of businesses give their time, services, materials and expertise free of charge.
Ian Charles, owner of Signs Express in Grantham, said: “This has been a fantastic project to be involved in, with signage being the only assistance we could offer and having made contact with Louis Deacon, commercial director for the foundation and ex-professional rugby player, it became apparent there was a requirement for two 8ft x 4ft boards.
“It was our pleasure to be able to produce the boards free of charge for the centre. The whole ethos of the Matt Hampson Foundation and the Get Busy Living centre sits very well with our own company philosophy and our strong links with the sport of Rugby Union, so it was a ‘no brainer’ to offer our assistance in this small way.”
The signs have been fitted up and look great in their surroundings, we look forward to seeing the completion of the centre and being able to help further if called upon.
