Barrowby Scout Hall has had a makeover thanks to members of Grantham Sunrise Rotary Club.

The hall was looking tired and needed some essential work done to be fit for purpose for the scouts, so the Sunrisers stepped in.

Fifteen members of the club voluntarily gave their time and expertise every evening over a two-week period to carry out the work.

Rotary club president elect Lez Jones said: “We replaced the toilets and sinks with new units, painted the rooms from skirting boards to ceiling, and generally brightened the whole place up, it was a wonderful project to be involved in.”

The only work that required an outside tradesman was a wall that needed replastering, kindly carried out free of charge by Don Blackman.

On the final evening, scout leaders Kev and Liz Carter attended the scout hall for the hand-over, and were thrilled with the work that had been done. They thanked president Ian Brodie and the Sunrisers for a job well done.
