Swim school Puddle Ducks is supporting Deaf Awareness Week (May 15-21) by partnering with the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) to provide deaf awareness training to all of its swimming teachers.

Nicola Wilson, owner of Puddle Ducks – which runs classes at Belton Woods Hotel, Stoke Rochford Hall and Urban Hotel – said: “We are proud to partner with the NDCS, they are a fantastic charity that works tirelessly supporting young deaf people in the UK. We now provide deaf awareness training for all our teachers, and many have also learnt basic sign language in order to communicate effectively with all children in their class. Children are at the centre of everything we do, and we want to continue providing a fantastic experience to suit every child’s needs when they come to us.”

Puddle Ducks has made deaf awareness training compulsory for all their teachers across the network, with over 300 teachers completing the training so far.
