Great Gonerby pupils donate gift-filled shoeboxes for children in need across Africa

Generous pupils at St Sebastian’s Primary School, in Great Gonerby, have collected more than 150 Christmas shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.

The shoeboxes have been filled with toys, school and hygiene items for children in Africa.

Headteacher Michelle Waddell said: “As we get ever closer to the Christmas festivities the children have been understanding that not everybody in the world has the same opportunities as they do. This year we have been a collection point and have seen how the community comes together. We have over 150 boxes to donate to Africa ensuring that even more children can feel the warmth of the kindness and goodwill of the Christmas Season.”
