Gritting lorries are operating overnight as temperatures are set to plunge as low as minus five degrees in Lincolnshire.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for ice and snow. Gritting crews have been out since 6pm this evening and will continue to grit roads around the county in the morning.

The yellow warning means people should be aware of dangerous driving conditions and slippery surfaces. Temperatures will dip below freezing in Grantham and are likely to be even colder in rural areas.
