Grantham health campaigners slam report on future of local health services
Health campaigners have slammed a report which sums up the findings of a public consultation into the future of local health services.
Campaigners say the report on last year’s Healthy Conversation does not reflect the feelings of many local people who want to see Grantham’s A&E reopened as a 24-hour unit. It was closed overnight in August 2016 and staff transferred to Boston and Lincoln hospitals which were undergoing a staff crisis.
Jody Clark, of Fighting 4 Grantham Hospital, said: “We are bitterly disappointed that the three and a half years of consistent opposition to the overnight closure of our A&E has not been accurately reflected in the Healthy Conversations report.
