A NEW health centre has been opened to offer health and advice to students all over Grantham.
The new Student Health Clinic has been launched at Grantham College using funding from the Healthy Living group of the Local Strategic Partnership with the goal of benefiting the community.
Although sited at Grantham College, the completely free service is available to all students in the Grantham area regardless of which school or college they attend.
It is run by an NHS prescribing nurse, Wendy Statham, and offers confidential advice and treatment on a range of issues including sexual health, including contraception, unplanned pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, weight gain and loss and smoking cessation.
She will offer advice on any problem and make referrals to other professionals when needed.
The clinic is held in the nurse’s room on the Stonebridge Road campus between 2pm and 5pm every Thursday during term time.
No appointment is needed.
