Hospital’s prognosis is good

THE future of Grantham Hospital continues to look bright despite heavy debts incurred by the trust.

Andrew North, chief executive at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust told the meeting he wanted to “put to bed rumours that Grantham Hospital is being downgraded.”

The board added that A&E at Grantham Hospital is safe and extra services are planned - despite a deficit of around £14 million.

District councillor Ray Wootten was at the meeting. He said: “For me this was excellent news for the people of Grantham.”
