A horse trapped by its hooves in a gate was “neigh problem” for firefighters from Grantham and Corby Glen.

The animal rescue teams were called to Worthington Lane in Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir just after 4.40pm yesterday (Monday).

They found the four-year-old horse was trapped by his hooves, which were stuck in a gate.

Hydraulic rescue equipment was used to spread the gate and free the animal. A local vet assisted by administering sedation.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted that it was “#neighproblem”.
