A HOSEPIPE ban will come into force in Grantham just before the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
Anglian Water is one of seven water companies across the southern and eastern parts of England to announce the ban will be in place from Thursday, April 5.
It comes as the region experiences a severe drought following the driest 18 months in more than 100 years.
Anglian Water managing director Peter Simpson said: “This is the first time Anglian Water has imposed a hosepipe ban in more than 20 years, but we believe this is the most sensible and responsible action to take to help safeguard customer supplies for this year, next year and beyond.”
In addition to the ban, families are being urged to save water at home where possible.
Businesses are not affected by the ban but are asked to use water sparingly.
