Hospital campaigners claim Grantham A&E consultation was 'illegal'

A hospital campaigner is claiming that a public consultation over the closure of Grantham A&E overnight was 'illegal'.

Charmaine Morgan, chairman of SOS Grantham Hospital, says that people with ‘protected characteristics’ were not properly consulted.

Mrs Morgan said: “We have subsequently learned that prior to the night closure there was no formal consultation with local residents specifically relating to those with ‘protected characteristics’ regarding the impact of night closure and very little impact analysis since. This is illegal.”
