Crowds gathered along the roadside in Grantham to welcome hundreds of bikers on their annual Easter egg run on Saturday.

About 400 bikers met in Bottesford and rode from there into Grantham to The Meres Leisure Centre, where they were welcomed by Mayor of Grantham Jacky Smith.

The bikers brought 1,500 Easter eggs with them which are shared among needy children in the area.

Organiser of the annual event, John Bartlett, said that they also managed to raise £354 for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

“I’d like to say thank you to all the motorcyclists, and everyone who came out to support us,” added John.

For the first time the event took place on a Saturday this year, but next year it will once again be held on a Sunday.
