Hypnotherapy is 'key to happiness'
A woman has set up her own hypnotherapy business to help people with anxiety and depression after suffering with the conditions herself.
Lisa Hartford has set up the business in Caythorpe. Several years ago she decided to follow her passion to help improve people’s mental and physical well-being.
After suffering poor mental health, Lisa says she became only too aware of the lack of resources available. Once she recovered, Lisa decided she wanted to help others take control of their lives.
After 10 months of training, including working with volunteer clients since September 2018, Lisa will fully qualify in June as a psychotherapist specialising in hypnotherapy.
Lisa offers everyone a free initial consultation and is now a student member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy. Having completed eight months of training, she can work with clients at a reduced rate of £30 per hour.
Treatment of phobias will usually take three sessions, whereas treatment for depression or anxiety could require up to 10 sessions.
Lisa said: “’You lifted me off the floor’ is one of the comments I have received as feedback. Words like that motivate me to continue working with clients from all walks of life to help them achieve their true potential and be the best they can be.”
Lisa is a member of MIND, the mental health charity which she turned to when she was unwell in 2015. She has raised £6,000 so far for the charity which included taking part in the London Marathon in 2017.
In her spare time, she is also a Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme supervisor.
She is a qualified first aider and is due to qualify as a mental health first aider at the end of this month.
