‘Inconsiderate drivers’ cause friction on Grantham estate

A frustrated resident is fed up with drivers using the housing estate on which he lives as a free car park, but more so their ‘inconsiderate’ ways.

Several areas of Grantham endure parking problems because motorists do not want to pay to park, often the case in streets near the town centre and railway station.

One area notorious for inconsiderate parking is Langford Gardens, opposite Grantham Hospital. It has become a free option for patients and visitors who want to avoid paying for parking in the hospital car park.

Following last week’s ‘Dozy Parker’ feature, in which we highlighted ongoing inconsiderate parking in the Grantham area, a frustrated resident of Langford Gardens sent in these photographs.

He said: “More inconsiderate drivers for your viewing.

“I see this daily walking through Langford Gardens. These kinds of people force school kids, young ones on little bicycles, pushchairs and prams into the road near a junction and a blind bend.

“They regularly block drives and have prevented delivery vehicles from entering the road. One neighbour told me an emergency vehicle was also unable to make it past double parked cars not too long ago.

“Why do they do this? They do not want to pay to use the ample parking in Grantham Hospital. Yes, they’re staff and visitors of the hospital.”
