Growing customer demand has persuaded a successful Grantham retailer to remodel his business after more than a decade’s success.

Peter Hipwell opened Peter’s Picture Framing, in Dysart Road, 13 years ago and the shop has proved very popular.

But now Mr Hipwell has just completed an overhaul of the business and renamed it Grantham Medal Centre.

The move is the result of growing demand from historians and medal collectors.

Mr Hipwell said: “Picture Framing always attracted a loyal customer base of medal and military enthusiasts.

“Whilst picture farming was successful as the main emphasis of the shop’s activities, there are already a few businesses in Grantham providing a framing service.

“For some time now my regular visitors have been passionate about military history.

“I have listened to what my customers wanted and have reshaped the business to suit.”

The business now focuses on providing individually designed frames for medals, photographs, cap badges, uniforms and other military items. The shop also offers medal mounting for wear, a cleaning and re-ribboning service.

Anyone who would like help researching their family’s military history or would like advice on how to best present medal collections can contact Mr Hipwell on 01476 400679 or drop into the shop.
