Briefing sessions are being organised for anyone who is interested in standing as a district councillor in the May elections.

The briefings at South Kesteven District Council’s offices in Grantham on Monday, February 23, at 5pm and Wednesday, March 4, at 2pm are intended to help anyone who is thinking of becoming one of SKDC’s 56 councillors.

They will explain the nomination process, outline the election timetable as well as matters relating to voting, campaigning and count arrangements.

Anyone who thinks they fit the bill is asked to get in touch with the elections team in advance to confirm attendance and the ward they wish to stand for by contacting 01476 406080 or emailing elections@southkesteven.gov.uk

The election process begins with the publication of the Notice of Election no later than March 30. To give more time for nominations to be submitted, the Notice of Election for both district and parish elections in South Kesteven will be published on March 23.

The Notice of Election for the Parliamentary election will be published on April 1.

Completed nominations papers are required to be delivered by hand to the elections team at SKDC offices in Grantham by 4pm on Thursday, April 9.
