JUMBO’S Trunk supports good causes from here to Kenya.

The band formed in 2009 and is made up of Paul Ricardo and Graham and Sam Welham.

The trio makes a point of playing a handful of charity gigs a year. They have raised money for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and Help for Heroes, as well as a school in Mombassa, Kenya.

It all began when Graham and his wife visited the school during a holiday. Touched by the sight of youngsters studying in 40C under a tin roof with no books or even pencils, the couple pledged to send out books and other materials.

So when the band formed, Graham and the gang put a lot of thought into why they should do it. He said: “I thought, ‘what are we going to do this for?’ Supporting events came from that really.”

Jumbo’s Trunk will play at The Fighting Cocks, in Corby Glen, from 8pm on Saturday, March 19.
