Jobs to be created as bookmaker plans to open new outlet in Grantham
A bookmakers could open in Grantham town centre if new plans are approved.
William Hill is looking to secure a change of use to open an outlet in a vacant unit in St Peter’s Hill.
Plans submitted to South Kesteven District Council seek a change of use from retail at the former Phones 4u store to a licensed betting office.
If the plans are approved, William Hill say the new store will create two full-time and four part-time jobs.
The proposed 90 square metres betting shop would be open seven days a week from 7am to 11pm.
A statement to the council reads: “The proposals will not impact any original features of the property and will have a positive contribution to the character and appearance of the heritage asset.”
Proposed alterations include a new shop front, the installation of a satellite dish, aerial and two air conditioning units.
