You can help raise money for Comic Relief by supporting a duck race along the River Witham tomorrow (Saturday).

Staff at Sainsbury’s in Grantham have organised the race to raise money for the national charity appeal, with an ambitious overall target in mind of £15,000.

Partner schools and organisations have been selling ducks at £1 each, with prizes lined up to go to the fastest duck and also the best decorated.

Registration will take place at the park on the day between 10am and 11am, with the race starting at 11am.

The duck race is part of a fund-raising campaign launched last month by Sainsbury’s.

The store decided to lead a bid to raise £15,000 for Comic Relief by encouraging schools, businesses and organisations to contribute by holding their own events.

** See next week’s Journal to find out how well they did, and for duck race coverage.
