MEMBERS of the knitting circle at Premier Court, Grantham, held a coffee morning on Wednesday to raise funds to help victims of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in March.

Winifred Wood, Brenda Daniele, Violet Olley and Grace Cox (pictured) along with Audrey Burke have been knitting squares during their weekly get-together.

Susan Paul has been knitting the finished squares together to create the finished blankets.

They will be donated to a charity which will send them to people who lost their homes in the disaster.

Knitter Violet Olley said: “We’d like to thank all the people who have donated wool.

“We made an appeal in the Journal and the response was great.

“Two ladies even donated blankets.”
