The Leader of South Kesteven District Council, Coun Linda Neal, is to step down as a councillor after the election in May.

Coun Neal has been a councillor for 20 years and Leader of the council for 13 years.

Philip Sagar, Chairman of the Grantham & Stamford Conservatives, said: “Linda has been a dedicated, local and hardworking individual who has not only delivered for her constituents but also for the district. It is safe to say that Linda will be leaving the district council in a better place than she found it when she took over as Leader in 2002. Whilst Linda might be leaving the district council, we are certain that she will continue to support her colleagues in re-election, and we hope she will again contribute to public service in the future.”
