South Kesteven District Council is appealing for further organisations, businesses and volunteers to join them in a Community Clear-Up day.

The council is taking part in Keep Britain Tidy’s first national spring clean on Saturday, March 21.

In Grantham, a two-hour litter-pick is being co-ordinated by the council, starting at 10am at Wyndham Park. The litter-picking team will meet at the tea rooms at the park, which is currently preparing for a stage 2 Heritage Lottery Fund Bid.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn a bit more about the heritage of the park while helping to maintain the much-valued First World War Memorial Park and wider area.

SKDC will provide volunteers with litter-pickers and bags and will arrange collection of all rubbish on the day. They can join the group effort or pick litter near their homes or businesses in the district.

To register your interest email pr@southkesteven.gov.uk call SKDC on 01476 406080 or to get involved, tweet your support to @southkesteven using the hashtag #ClearUpDay
