Lincolnshire County Council election results Grantham Barrowby: Conservative candidate keeps seat
A Conservative candidate has won the right to continue to represent Grantham Barrowby on Lincolnshire County Council.
Fighting for the position was Mark Whittington (Con), the holder of the seat, and challengers, Michael Turner (Green) and Tracey Forman (Lab).
Coun Whittington gained the clear majority with 1,527 votes, while Michael earned, 210, and Tracey, 682 votes.
In his election speech, coun Whittington said: "I would like to thank the voters of Grantham Barrwoby for having confidence in me to re-elect me for another four years.
"I'm really looking forward to developing on the work I have been doing previously.
"It's really humbling seeing votes coming out against my name and see people have confidence in you.
"My pledge is not only to serve those who voted for me but those who didn't vote for me or didn't vote at all."
The election turn out was 30.1 per cent with 2,431 people voting out of an electorate if 8,065.
