Lincolnshire Police issue warning after reports of phone scam

By Grantham Reporter

Lincolnshire Police are urging residents to be vigilant after receiving a report of telephone fraud relating to the use of a lifeline alarm.

An elderly Lincolnshire resident received a telephone call whereby a suspect claimed that their payment details had expired and that the victim needed to provide their card details again.

A Police spokesman said: "Please be aware that this is fraud – a legitimate organisation would never demand payment over the telephone. Do not provide personal or bank details over the telephone. If you are unsure, then end the call immediately."

For police support please call 101. For enquiries regarding your lifeline please contact your local council directly.
