Liz Hurley to open Engine Yard at Belvoir Castle

Liz Hurley, the Hollywood filmstar, model and former girlfriend of Hugh Grant, will make a VIP opening of Belvoir Castle’s £2.5m shopping village next month.

The glamorous 53-year-old will be present at the Engine Yard on Sunday September 2.

The Engine Yard will host the Idle Mole plant centre, butcher and farm shop The County Victualler, homewares shop Margo and Plum, coffee supplier Cherizena, chocolatier Cocoa Amore, Jorge Artisan Foods, Belvoir Casa Spa, Crafts4Kids, the Duchess’ Gallery, the Fuel Tank café and the 45 West gin bar. Several outlets, including the Idle Mole, Cherezina, Cocoa Amore and Craft4Kids are already open.

The official launch of the Engine Yard will also feature cooking demonstrations from leading chefs including Rachael Green, performances from musicians and entertainers, and a pop-up gin wagon by Leicester bar and bottle shop, 45 West.

The launch will also host the first of the Engine Yard’s ‘Countryside Corner’ events, where those with a passion for the country can take part in talks, debates and explore areas of interest.

To mark the opening, the castle has just launched an Annual pass for visitors.

Belvoir Castle CEO, her Grace the Duchess of Rutland, said: “We’re always working hard to ensure that we offer a great value day out for those in the local community as well as visitors from further afield.”
