Lockdown rule breakers in Grantham fined by unimpressed officer

Two fines were handed to lockdown rule breakers in Grantham yesterday (Saturday).

Grantham police sergeant Dan McCormack was unimpressed to find the occupants of two cars travelling to get fast food were from different households and were not wearing masks.

He said on Twitter: "2 vehicle stops across Grantham.

"#Covid19 fines issued to people who think it’s acceptable to collect fast food together whilst living in different households and sharing the same vehicle with no masks.

"Strong advice given, along with a fine #Grantham #Policing #Lockdown"

Several people comment in support of Sg McCormack's actions.

Damian Kinsella wrote: "Nice one Dan, it needs to get tougher. Too many are taking the Michael. All this traffic on the roads can’t all be keyworkers surely not!!"
