The Grantham branch of the Oesophageal Patients Association which meets at St Barnabas Hospice, Barrowby Road, has received a donation of £500 from the Doric Lodge of Freemasons.

Group chairman John Talbot accepted the cheque from Lodge member Trevor Parkes, himself a recent patient who is now making a good recovery supported by the local OPA group.

The money is part of £70,000 donated annually by Lincolnshire Freemasons, raised by them and their families with the aim of helping local good causes.
