Police are appealing for information about an 83-year-old man who went missing yesterday after leaving hospital.

Jack Derek Foster left Grantham hospital following treatment for a fractured shoulder and was supposed to return home to Lilley Street, Long Bennington, but he never arrived.

When he left hospital he was wearing a dark brown overcoat, dark trouseers and shoes. He is described as white, with grey receeding hair, glasses, slim build. He has a fractured left shoulder which means his left arm is incapacited and he cannot move it. He carried a walking stick in his right hand and is described as being ‘unstable’ on his feet.

He has a distinctive gait due to his arm and his walk is described as a ‘shuffle’.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen Mr Foster in the Grantham area to contact them on 101 and quote incident number 392 of December 23.
