‘Loyal’ Gail celebrates 20 years in hairdressing at Grantham salon
A woman is celebrating 20 years working for the same hairdresser in Grantham.
Gail Coleman has worked for Simon Bailey for two decades, first joining him on March 3, 1995, when he ran Strand Management in Swinegate.
The business then moved to the Maltings in 2003 before going to St Catherine’s Road in 2006 where it is now called Bailey’s. Simon said: “I have known Gail since she was 12 years old. I was looking for an apprentice and her mum rang me up and said Gail had been to college and got her NVQ and is looking for a job. She got the job and has been raising the roof ever since. She is my most loyal member of staff.”
Gail, 41, who has Down’s Syndrome, looks after stock, makes refreshments and occasionally shampoos. She used to work full-time and now works three days a week. She said she was very happy working at Bailey’s and said she had a good boss. As a gift for her 20 years at the business, Gail is being taken to see Dirty Dancing at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham.
