Major delays for Grantham rail passengers after severe damage to overhead lines




Rail passengers at Grantham are facing delays of up to five hours after overhead lines were severely damaged between Grantham and Peterborough

A statement on the National Rail website says: “ Damage to the overhead electric wires between Grantham and Peterborough has resulted in all lines being blocked. Consequently, trains between these stations may be cancelled. Major disruption between Grantham and Peterborough expected until 16:00."

LNER are advising their customers not to travel today.

They said: "Your tickets dated for travel today, Wednesday 10 July, will be valid for travel tomorrow, Thursday 11 July. If you're not able to travel tomorrow, you'll be entitled to a refund."

Rail operators have apologised to customers and says alternative routes are available.
