Man appears at crown court charged with murder of Marston girl

A man has appeared in court this morning charged with the murder of 16-year-old Hannah Pearson, of Marston.

James Morton, of Pierson Street, Newark, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court and was remanded in custody until September 2 when a plea and directions hearing will take place.

A provisional trial date has been set for January 16, 2017.

Hannah died in Newark in the early hours of Sunday morning. She was taken from Mr Morton’s address by ambulance but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at hospital.
