A man police want to speak to about an alleged sexual assault on the railway near Grantham has voluntarily made contact.

British Transport Police (BTP) yesterday (Monday) issued a media appeal for help identifying a man officers wanted to speak to after a woman was sexually assaulted shortly after getting on a train in Grantham.

The man contacted BTP voluntarily and will be interviewed by officers in due course.

Detective constable Sarah Trotter said: “I would like to thank the local media for their assistance in publicising this appeal.”
