A man was detained under the Mental Health Act when police were called to a disturbance in Grantham on Thursday.

Just before 1am on July 23 Lincolnshire Police were called to reports of a disturbance on Tennyson Avenue in Grantham.

Officers attended and a man, aged in his 40s, was subsequently detained under the Mental Health Act.

A nearby resident reported that around five police cars, two ambulances and two fire engines turned up at the scene. A spotlight was used during the incident which the resident said ended at about 3.30am.

Police say they would like to thank local residents for their patience and understanding while officers dealt with this incident.
