Witnesses say a suspect may have jumped from a first floor window at John Cussell jewellers in Grantham where police are investigating an incident.

The first floor window was clearly smashed and police have cordoned off the front of the shop in Westgate.

Another witness says he saw a man, possibly in his 20s, being arrested by police after running down Westgate and into another jewellers, Houghton’s, at the bottom of Dysart Road.

Graham Churchill told the Journal: “He ran straight into the jewellers and I thought that’s weird. A minute later he came out and I suppose he may have been trying to hide. Then about six police cars came along. They pushed him up against a wall. They took him away holding his arms and legs.”
